Does anyone know the starting salary for someone joining the CDC at Capgemini and how this compares to other graduate salaries in consulting?

Hello. I heard its 30k/30.5k plus 1.5k sign on. Its pretty similar to deloitte who i believe offer an almost identical package. ACN: 28.5k plus 10k sign on over two years. PA: approx 25 but you do get much bigger bonuses im told. Plus i hear you get a travel allowance of a few thousand and im not sure the other firms do that. in my view in terms of financial package i believe the order is ACN, DELOITTE, CG, PA (note these r without bonues but with sign on etc.If anyone knows better or different please say

Hi, I have an offer with CG for the CDC programme to start in Sept 2005, which I have accepted. I was offered a salary of £29K and a benefit package of £1.5K (which you can opt to take as cash). So basically a potential salary of £30.5K. I was not offered any signing-on bonus (and believe me I am looking carefully at my contract now). Anon, are you saying probably some of my fellow CDCers (which I have not met) might have been offered sign-on bonus which I was not offered? It will upset me if I was being paid less than others. Especially when I was the only person crazy and confident enough to ask about the salary at the assessment centre and was told everyone got the same.

Flavour, Im not saying some of your fellow CDCers are getting more, and im not saying they are not. If you look at one of the past post by RecruitGal who holds considerable clout on this forum and who works in HR she specified that for those candidates firms really want, rather than offer them a better salary at graduate level they may offer them a greater sign on/joining bonus. Im a graduate myself and can only tell you what ive heard, I could be rigt or wrong. Your package is still very competitive at graduate level (bar ACN) i wouldnt worry about it. Clearly you happy with it as you signed a contract, so no need to feel down if, and im not saying it is the case some of your fellow CDCers have/had a greater sign on/joining bonus. I hear great things about CG, hope all goes well. I guess if your really bothered you can ask HR but then again your not guaranteed to get a straight answer. Perhaps consult with your fellow CDCers. Again im just telling you what ive heard so id take it with a pinch if salt. By the way what is your 1.5K benefits package consist of?

Could people who have graduate contracts for consulting with Deloitte, ACN, PA and CG please state (if they do not mind) their package including base salary, sign on bonus, joining bonus, any other significant benefits. Perhaps this would shed greater light and clarify this question. Thanks

Hi Flavour.I have accepted an offer from Cap for the CDC scheme and deferred until March/April 2006 to go travelling. I have the same offer of 29k + 1.5 benfits but no signing on bonus which I think is fair enough. It's a better package than IBM - circa 26k, almost identical to Deloitte - about 30k all inclusive and only slightly less than ACN due to the 10k split bonus. As a graduate I think such a package is extremely competitive and am very much looking forward to starting in a few months.Good luck for September.Steve
