The first round is definitely about them getting a feeling for you and vice versa. As always with initial interviews they want to see how your attitude seems to match their culture and whether you have the right "fit" for the CDC. The partner interview at the second stage is lengthy - mine was about an hour and a half. The first half of this is about a case study which you receive prior to the day, and then the second half is about you, what motivates you, why consulting, why Cap in particular etc etc. There were a number of completely random questions that you can't prepare for, that show how you react to new and ambiguous situations. As regards their past, when the market was unfavourable, Cap did poorly and became renowned for lay offs. However, this balance is being redressed and Cap is now growing at a steady rate and looking like a much safer prospect.
