Hi all, I am currently managing the implementation of an IT system across 20 countries within my company. Over the past year I've written specs, run UAT processes, managed pilots, developed training programs, worked with Senior Exec/suppliers/users, and sucessfully deployed. However, my quals and experience (6 years) are in organisational psychology. I would like to pursue a role in IT project management (I'm a masochist) or change management associated with the implementation of IT systems, but would any of the larger firms consider me for these roles? What level/pay scale would I enter at? Or, would I have a chance of succeeding as a contractor?Lots of questions! Your advice is welcomed!

Don't see any issue. I have a degree in Economics and 1,5 yrs of implementation experience. And I got a position in Change Management with ACN, @45KI am also a masochist:-(

Good news - thanks. How are you enjoying the role/ACN so far? Are there many opportunities in your area at the moment/coming up?

I haven't started yet. I am negotiating to start as late as possible, preferably in July. I am in the middle of the project with my current employer, and I want at least to test the solution before I leave.ACN seems to hire a lot now, but i don't know the specifics. I did not do any proper job search - I was headhunted.

You will be snapped up by any of the National Programme for IT Local Service providers - Accenture, CSC, BT or Fujitsu for working on systems implementation for the NHS. I work for Accenture and there will be plenty of project and change management opportunities coming up here.

That's positive news! How are you finding ACN and the work you're doing - challenging/stimulating? Any tips on securing a role there? Are there particular methodologies I should read up on, or buzz words I could use? What sort of selection process could I expect (what would the case study be about)? Sorry for all the questions, but you feel so exposed when applying for a new job that every piece of info helps!
