Accenture - 2nd Interview

#0 Accenture - 2nd Interview

Kas

Hi Guys,I applied for Strategy Consulting Analyst (Grad.) role @ Accenture and despite my fears passed the 1st Interview and have now been invited for the second stage (of 3). This, I have been told, consists of an initial interview, a case study (both one-to-one and as a group), followed by another case study and a final interview. Although strategy consultants follow a slightly different route, I've also been told the assessment stages for a strategy analyst and other analysts is the same for the 1st and 2nd rounds. Has anyone got an idea what the 2nd stage is like? Any comments about the interviews and case studies would be very much appreciated. Did you find the case studies technical/quantitive or were they more general? Thanks in advance for any help. Kas

Thanks Aash. It seems Accenture stress that they expect their candidates to have been involved in extra-cirricular activities outside academics to set them apart from the herd since there are tons of grads with 2.1s nowdays. Regretably I hadn't been involved in as many activities as I would have liked, but I used to work as well so didn't have much time. So what I did when writing filling out my application form is to look at my time at Uni and put down anything I hadn't been involved in making it sound sexy. Concentrate more on activities which cultivated the skills and bear the same traits as the position you're applying for.I didn't have to answer a question about accenture as such. I think you mean the question where it asks how the company uses technology to helps its clients. Use their website to gain more information about the company and use this in your answers.Good luck

Kas,I didn't realise there was an initial interview (before the first case study). I was told there was just a short presentation by the manager. Are you sure there are 2 interviews? Btw I'm waiting to hear back about my 1st round.

There are two interviews. The initial one will contain a presentation but will also have a one to one with a manager or above to assess if you are right for the job/lying on your form (joke)/and to ascertain which area of the business you would like to join; there are many people being rejected at this stage. The second round is the case studies and group activities; this is the part when you are really studied and tested. It is not that hard, if you are honest about who you are and your ability you should be OK.Believe me, ACN is not the kind of company you want to work if you are not as good as you say you are. The work is tough, but really rewarding.

Ummm, Acn Consultant, I understand the process to be just as you described. Where I got confused, was when kas (above) stated that as part of the 2nd round assesment centre there are 2 interviews....have a read of the original post again. I just wanted to know if this was true, and what the point of 2 interviews (within hours of each other) was?

Hi, I am not familiar with the case part of Accenture interviewing but I think that it is contigent upon the position itself. I am going through their interviewing process and it is 3 stages. I am at the second stage. First was both HR Screening and phone interview with the PM, second is a performance factor interview, third is final with the associate partner. Hope this helps.

Victoria, you are defiantely right, the case does depend on what you are applying for. In this particular case its the Graduate position. Instead of faffing around on here I phoned accenture HR today and there is only ONE interview as part of the whole 2nd round asssesment circus.

That's what I've been told by the HR, I'm not making it up. Yours might be different depending on the position applied and the country you're in. The second interview is just a recap of the day and your thoughts.
