Hi allTo date I've got one year of post degree work exp. This has been as an Information Analyst for a manufacturing organisaton and currently as a Business Analyst for a MNC that provides customer management solutions and outsourced business functions. I now might have the chance to get a job as a Business Analyst/Entry level Business Consultant with a big 4 consultancy firm, based in Australasia (the likes of BearingPoint, Deloitte Consulting etc). I'll probably be involved in projects aimed at business performance improvement and/or IT strategy. Question - after working at this big 4 consultancy for a year or so, will it be feasible to move to a top tier strategy house like McK/BCG/Bain? What level would I be considered for - entry level (BA in McK, Associate in BCG etc) or as a one year consultant. At that time I would offer two years of work exp, one year in industry and one in consulting. My 2-3 year aim is to do an MBA from a top 10 uni in the US or Europe. Towards that end, I'm quite keen on getting some exp at a top tier Strategy firm prior to the MBA, with an aim of possibly coming back to them after the MBA. Your thoughts are appreciated. cheers
