Hi all,I made the somewhat unnerving transition from the security of employment to being my own limited company just over a year ago.I am glad to say, I am not looking back and the change has been successful in every sense of the way.To manage those looking to make the same move's expectations, it has not been easy and it certainly taught me a lot along the way.I am now facing the biggest hurdle in sight.I have no interest in being a one man band but scaling up and recruiting a team is a challenging task on your own.My assumption: There must be other 1 man/woman bands out there wanting to progress as a consulting org. and like me, face the challenges of limitations of being on your own??If this is correct, and if you would interested to make contact send me your details and we can have a chat.My background: expertise in strategy in consumer products as well as finance planning and analysis.I have a good network and contacts.Whilst I am hoping to receive responses from prospective bus partners, advice are welcome.BestEY

Hmmm, interesting.I don't like giving too much away here, but I am also in the same situation as I was an MC (and before that in a FI) and am now a v happy well earning contractor. However, I like what you're thinking although the UK market is awash with Consultancies selling the same darn thing. The thought of starting a 2 man band sounds much better, but what is our USP compared to the sea of consultancies out there? And please don't say:- Our experience- Our ability to move fast in a constantly changing market- etc etc add MC related language hereMy view would be - do you speak any other languages? I speak 4 hence would be looking for someone who also has an international taste to them as well as the type of experience you explained, so that the UK does not become our primary market. I am thinking of BRIC countries and the ability of being able to speak to people face to face in their own language as well as in fluent English, rather than expecting people in the work we win to speak English at all times. Thanks for making contact.I speak 3 languages and my experience to date has been across Asia, Au, NZ, UK.My USP is pragmatic delivery.I focus on very specific area of commercial performance improvement and deal 80% with sales directors and 20% with finance directorsI apply specifically designed (proprietary) models and frameworks, which I have tried, tested and assessed in all my engagements to date and these enable me to deliver results quickly across clients.I am therefore able to offer a very cost effective option. My area of expertise are:- Revenue and Profit strategy- Cost out incl. commercial costs (e.g. customer investment), supply chain and indirect costs- Price/ Promotion/ Format strategy- Financial PlanningI give a very clear line of site to my client on what is believed to be at stake, the risks, how we are going to deliver the benefits. The clients I deal with are mostly global £1bn + T/O per market and the directors I deal with have seen too many consultants with big promises and catchy jargon. In a blunt format, my USP is a cut the crap and deliver.I target PLC, Private and PE backed company.I have the benefit of both industry and consulting experience so I am well versed in delivering engagement and chg mngt on top of profit improvement strategiesI deal at board level of board+1 generally.I have a network that is fairly globalIf you want I just created this email address if you want to continue the conversation offline:mc.buspartner@gmail.comBestEY

Hi Anon MC'sGreat to hear back from you.Send me a note on the email mc.buspartner@gmail.com; I am also keen to only divulge more about me including my contact details to interested parties.I gave a bit of a download of my background.I am looking for business partners who either have a similar functional/ industry expertise as mine and/or bus partners who have very different industry/ functional experiences.I think to answer your question over how a partnership could be differentiated vs. the sea of consultants out there, we would need to see how to leverage our respective expertise, assets (languages, contacts etc...) but to me there are plenty of opportunities and I agree with you, international markets are one of them.Looking forward to chatting more openly by emailBestEY
