I work at PIP. Interview process is initial phone discussion, if mutual agreement proceed to case study interview, usually over the phone, if that's successful there is a 2nd case study followed by a 3rd face to face. Reputation is strong in heavy industry. Salaries are competitive to tier 1 depending on geography. Cheers

I interviewed with them a couple of years ago. The hours can be tough. I understand they work on site Mon-Fri and there is no office to return to - it's either client site or home. They were the only consulting firm which asked me about my Excel skills - apparently, it is very important to them. Also, the interview process can be very, very long - about six months. But maybe the situation has improved now. Will that be correct, Judy?

Hey Kevin,Could you tell us a bit about the interview process - 1) How was the initial/HR interview ; what areas got covered ; how quickly you heard back from them-2) How was the case interview; how difficult was the case? Was it on the phone? How different was it from cases given by other consulting firms? How soon did you hear back from them? Was there much emphasis on Excel and numerical analysis, as wealthy.industrialist pointed out?Am thinking of applying.

I came on baord this year to improve customer service (internal and external) in the recuitiment area - I have just hired someone that we put through the full interview process in 3-4 weeks. Usual would be in a couple of months max if we have specific opportunities - alaways a balance between relevant experience, where we are staffing projects, when projects confirm and where people can work (languages, visas etc). We may halt people in the process after the second round if we don't have an immediated opportunity as final round is with Principal and they are busy! Hope this helps

Well done! Second round interview will test the areas where people may not have done so well in first - case may well be a bit tougher - but depends on candidate's experience level and exposure to different industries/business problems. We do a ot of quants in the cases and yes, we do expect strong excel skills at all levels, particularly so for analysts. Hope this answers questions on this thread. Cheers

I worked for PIP for around 4 years, joining back in 2007. For me the interview selection process went something like this...* Rang their office on a Monday morning and emailed them cv* They rang me Tuesday morning and arranged some testing online same day (not sure they do this anymore)* First case study interview over the phone Wednesday lunch* Second case study interview and a chat Wednesday evening * Thursday morning met a senior guy at the airport as he flew in from an engagement site for a meet and greet* Offer in my email Thursday evening* On the ground with a team at a client site on the other side of the country the following monday morning.I absolutely loved working for PIP, just had to make a call after 4 years - family or work, the travel was really onerous. I understand this has improved a bit since I left.Their case studies can be a bit odd due to the operational focus of the company and the peculiarities of some of the interviewers. Highly recommend them.
