I have moved to management consulting (strategy) after a PhD and post-doc in science. I have been working for a niche firm in London (to start with) for almost two yrs and I constantly have a thirst for basic knowledge. I find myself much too focused on delivering results and collecting billable days, but I still have time in the evening to study. The internal library at work is rather dated, and there is almost nothing in terms of MBA textbooks.I tried to get hold of any list of textbooks/references used for MBA courses in Harvard, LBS, Stanford, Carnegie, Wharton, Columbia, Bocconi etc...but no success...unfortunately I have no friends with a business background that could help me...To be honest, I do not even know (exactly) what are the standard subjects tought in those schools (though some publish a list of subjects on their webpages: strategy, operations, finance, accounting, marketing ,economics, statistics). Can anybody help in this forum? Has anybody here got an MBA at LBS, Harvard, Wharton, etc..and remembers the books he studied on?I am willing to spend a lot of money in books (they are always a good investment)!Thank you in advance...and...Happy Easter to everybody!
