Hi - does anyone know anything about Analysys - a telecoms strat / management consulting house?I'm considering a job change and am looking to avoid crazy travel requirements (I live in London), having worked for 3 years for a big name consultancy on telco projects here there and everywhere.Analysys say they are based in Cambridge but have offices in London - I'm wondering how much of their work is done at client sites and how much in Cambridge / London. Any other general pointers re this firm would be gratefully received too.

Marco - Analysys were acquired by Mason last year (another telecoms specialist consultancy). So I'm guessing that any digging around you are doing to understand what the culture is like would need to look at both Mason and Analysys. For the news release about the acquisition see:http://www.consultant-news.com/article_display.aspx?p=adp&id=1693

Thanks Tony - I did know that. I've done a fair amount of research on the firm (from their website and elsewhere) but can't get any clarity on the issue of whether they have a fully-functioning London office or whether everything is done from Cambridge. If daily life requires a commute from W. London to Cambridge I will probably not be applying...Thanks - M.

Hi Marco,The London office is actually a Mason office. Whenever Analysys consultants need to use a hotdesk when in London, they pop in here; the actual base for Analysys remains in Cambridge.Mason plays more of a part in the technical and implementation side of consultancy, whereas as Analysys is more into the market analysis and strategy side, and tends to support Mason in some of the larger pieces. There is less client-site-based work than you would probably get with the larger and more established strat-type houses, but you would still need to spend (dependant on role and engagement) at least 50% of time on client site. Why don't you call up the Mason head office in Manchester to ask before you apply? They are relatively small (not too much bureaucracy) and should answer your questions straight-up. Ask for Karen Simpson, who is the head of HR.I.

Thanks I - great knowledge & very helpful. Analysys' use of Mason's London office as a hotdesk and meeting facility was as I suspected.Marco.
