Hello all,I just finished my last interview from Capgemini and they said they are interested in hiring me. How long is the usual wait between the last interview and the actual job offer. From your experiences, how long was the whole process in total(Capgemini or any other company)?thanks

If they want you, they should respond within 1 - 2 day (from experience at KPMG and PwC). Any longer than that, and just wait for the PFO letter to drop on the mat

its all thin air until you have the letter in front of you. things happen. rule of thumb is between them saing we want you and offer should take as long as the contract is drawn and posted (in graduate cases 56 hours max)

A golden rule is obviously to have a contract in front of you. Most of the time you can expect to get this quickly (3 days?), but internal and external post systems vary, even if the sender is quick. It might take a bit longer for perfectly understandable reasons (internal procedures require someone high up to sign it off, they agreed to it but are out of the country, and numerous other possibilities). After about 7-10 days it is starting to look a concern, but you should put a few polite calls/emails through to check. You could then keep doing this at reasonable intervals until they respond. After 4-6 weeks there would have to be something fairly exceptional for it to be very likely, but higher up the pecking order things can sometimes be much slower, and indeed quicker.

Depending on the seniority of your position, internal approvals, especially in big firms, can take time. My current verbal to written offer record is 6 weeks - that was a senior job in a global firm (Big Bleu) where the hiring required a number of internal approvals (ie salary etc). Keep in touch with your contact however throughout the delay period. Good luck

6 weeks eh?At least that's a bit more reassuring for me. My offer is for an entry level position for a recent grad. Its been about 6 weeks since last interview, and 4 weeks since the verbal offer saying they would like to hire me.Thanks for all the opinions, the more the merrier. This board is great! I will post here for sure if I get this job

For a senior position, such a wait would be normal, for a grad that's not. The job has gone away. Pretty poor show by the company. Who was it ?? Name and shame !

I'd still contact them to check even if it does seem a long time. You might find another role turns up, if you explain it in a matter of fact way then you might avoid jumping through all the hoops again.
