You should be able to find out alot about Gartner - they are a pretty well known outfit. They are known, in the main, for their bench-marking practice and IT industry research. They are not really management consultants and comparing them with strat houses is not really valid. In terms of consulting they are trying to set themselves up as sourcing advisors in the vein of Morgan-Chambers or TPI but I dont think they have made much head-way in this space.
