M2 is a Senior Consultant grade with the salary range between £40,000 and £50,000 plus about £5K's worth of benefits. More on the base for MBAs.

Expect salary to be towards the lower end of that scale though, about 43k. Benefits package up to 5k falls well short of packages given by competitors. Progression will be slow - there are many M2s awaiting promotion to M4, most of whom were promised promotion last year but have been promised it again this year instead. Be prepared for a long wait.

Thanks. Not great is it! Looks like it will be very marginal as to whether it would be worth my while as like you say, benefits package is not particularly generous. As a whole it doesn't seem to compare too well to the top paying places or investment n banking - but then, what price a life and some time to spend it. Any idea on base for MBAs as was weighing up taking this now compared to original plan of MBA next year?

I agree that the pay is below market average and the ££ are more attractive in Investment banking. The other problem I'm experiencing is that I am working IB hours a vast %age of the time and not getting the reward... If the M4 promotion doesn't happen in a few weeks then there are big questions to be answered. It's a serious question to ask due to loving the Deloitte culture and work but giving far more than I am getting. (Moan moan!!)...Anyway, the MBA salary is around the £60K mark for a M2 from what I understand.
