What is the advantage (if any) in the middle/long term of a consulting job over a line managent job (or Project Management)? Any comments? Thanks.

I think that there are some more advanteages than disadvantages,because most of the project are instituted within a period which is more than 3-4 years and if you and your team able to have managed Line Management that means you have a control on it and you are also able to improve it further.
