About 3k. You need to consider what does this mean in the wider world of consulting -my opinion for what its worth is join a consulting organisation that pays a better basic and bonus (on average 5% of basic) ((and isnt so public sector focused doing PMO)).

Anon,

You do make me chuckle. I work for Deloitte and I take your point. PMO stuff aplenty here. But not everywhere. Thanks for the giggles.

there's no doubt that allred's lot do drive a significant portion of consulting revenues but there's still a lot of life left in other industries especially financial services. ive even heard of some interesting projects involving the strategy competency in the middle east so it cant be all that bad..

I beleive it is always improper for a good consultant to be negative and I apologise if I come across that way. Deloitte revenues in the public sector account for 80% at the moment. Financial Services is around 9%. A very imbalanced industry portfolio at Deloitte. Also, the Financial Services work is patchy/ advisory 1-3 person jobs -unless its ABN AMRO where their is a sizable Deloitte crowd doing strictly PMO. Where have the core skills gone at Deloitte ?

not at all. fully understood. i guess my perspective is somewhat different given that i have come into the business with an fs background and since ive joined ive been able to stay fs aligned. certainly agree that there is a degree of polarisation but i think largely due to the absence of heavyweight rainmakers across all industry groups rather than one or two
