I currently hold an offer for CapGemini in the graduate Accelerated Technologist Program and I am about to apply to Accenture Technology Solutions.I understand that Accenture offers considerable more in salary, but I have consistently heard that Capgemini have a better work ethic resulting in an improved work life balance. Is this true. Any info on work at each of the companies would be most helpful.

Accenture tech solutions is not the same as the consulting workforce- the starting grad salary for ATS is 22k. There is no bonus, no rapid career progression, no fancy trips to chicago etc etc.
Accenture consulting rips apart CG any day of the week, although CG are improving.

T,
If you join ATS, make sure you negotiate your starting salary.
Not everyone in ATS starts on the same salary. Working for Accenture is way better than Capgemini. The Accenture brand is well renowned and will help you later in your career if you leave the firm. Some of the people that left have gone on become technical architects, test managers etc.
The technology services division at CG is the equivalent of ATS and the pay is comparable.

Neither Accenture Consulting or ATS get bonuses till they reach manager level. ATS did not have a grad scheme at inception so it is still relatively new.

As for fancy trips to Chicago. The truth is they are not fancy at all and so many from the consulting division have trouble attending the course in their first year.

Do not be put off Accenture but be aware that ATS provide a better training package than CG. ATS is a very technical division but the training is fantastic plus think of the 30 day holiday (ATS) compared to 22!

Thank you very much for your insight. truth stated that ATS provide a better training package. How much evidence of this is there? The websites do not go into much detail on the first two years.

Just ask them. You get a set budget and can follow one of many skill tracks. Oracle, SAP, JAVA. Don't source from topconsultant only, get it from the horse's mouth!

No, a starting programmer in ATS only gets 10 days of PTO, not 30, unless you start counting the US holidays.
