#0 Experienced hire or graduate?

Hi,I am 10 months into my first consultancy job but I know I wish to move to a different consultancy.Companies such as Accenture will allow you into their graduate scheme provided you have no more 18 months consultany experience. My dilemma is, should I leave pretty soon so I can take advantage of their graduate scheme OR deliberately wait so I can be taken on as a experienced hire. Here are a list of some of the things I have taken into consideration. However, my reasoning is probably messed up. I would like your advice on them please:Training: Better in a graduate scheme. More likely have to learn fast as an Ex. hire?Salary: if I am taken on as a Ex. hire I will earn more?Opportunities: More opp. if you are a grad. Opportunities will be less if you go for ex. hire as they will be more specific?Any thoughts would be appreciated

Charlie,I'm a consultant working at Accenture (joined from IBM (formerly PwC Consulting)) since Jan 2004.In my experience at Accenture so far I would say that you would definitely benefit from joining as a graduate. The graduate training program is excellent and it will give you an opportunity to build good relationships with the other Analysts in your start group. The starting salary for Analysts is certainly competetive and you'll be able to use the experience gained in your current role to shine on your first project with Accenture. As an experienced hire with only a year under your belt you'd still be joining no higher than as an A2 (second year Analyst) with the added factor that you're up for promotion to Consultant the following year.We are certainly recruiting in most areas at the moment, and I'd be happy to take a look at your CV if you're interested.
