Has anyone attended an IBM selection day. ive applied to BCS. What does the group exercise consist of and whats the interview like...ie do u need to know much about current trends in IT. Cheers

I worked for BCS in the UK for more than 5 years, and people are leaving in their droves. I’d strongly advise you to think hard about joining BCS. At the interview, ask them what the staff attrition rate is for the area you’re going into, and watch them squirm (in the UK in Financial Management it is running at more than 40%).

thanks for the info chelsey boy. Where r u working now? I'm a fresh graduate and keen on pursuing an IT career so i think at the mo, any experience is good. When and if i get an offer (very unlikely as i keep getting rejected), i will think hard about accepting it.

I now work for Deloittes, having just joined them. A very much more professional firm. Have you tried someone like PA Consulting, who have also got a strong IT reputation, but are much more pleasant to work for than IBM ?

ive tried most of the other IT firms (accenture, BT CSI, logicaCMG, Deloitte, Capgemini and IB's) but no luck so far. Ive got an assessment centre to attend with atos origin but that and IBM are all i have left now. Will also apply to CSC and data connection.

What about trying PA, KPMG, and BearingPoint? All are hiring technical graduates now. BearingPoint and IBM would have a similar culture though, I’m afraid.
