What you need to know in part depends on the level you are joining at: if at an origination level, your fate is in your hands; at an entry level you are probably too cheap a resource to suffer. In the middle, with transactions down over 50% this year, not good. Having said that the major PE funds have done their fundraising already.

Is it focused on any particular verticals? What deal size do they typically handle?

I suspect mid-market, which would make me more positive about the prognosis.

Precisely, it all depends anon. We advised on our biggest deal ever (publicity wise) last week... not all M&A is dead.
