Does anyone have an idea of starting salary levels at LEK consulting?I am a PhD graduate with experience of working for a major pharmaceutical company and I'm being considered for a position at LEK within the biotech practice.Thanks.

what level are they considering you for? associate, AC or consultant?

That's yet to be decided but probably AC.

I had an AC offer earlier in the year and if I remember correctly it was something like £36k plus bonus, which they estimated would be between 4-7k.HTH

They wait till the end of the process from what I hear, but their intention will be to be very competitive. Personally, I'd focus on the people rather than the money (the LEKers I know are a great bunch, but there's no doubt it's a strong corporate culture), as the money will be good but it's never going to be enough to compensate for being in the wrong place... unless you're in a bank, maybe!

Your absolutely right, money is only one factor, and personally not the most important as far as I'm concerned. I'm more interested in the opportunity to do some exciting work for high quality clients with an excellent team of people. I think that LEK are pretty well regarded in these respects, and the seem like a nice bunch when I've met them.

yes, would be very surprised if you were offered a higher than entry level position at lek without significant consulting or industry experience. lek are very highly regarded for the quality of their output - amongst the best in the business in the areas they work in. hours can be very long but travelling is minimal - usually non-existent at associate level - so the lifestyle is much better in that regard than many firms.
