#0 to VP or not to VP?

I'm a second year at Durham Uni planning to go into management consultancy. I'm wondering about standing for Vice President of my college as I'm sure that it'd be favourable on my CV. However, the person currently doing the job told me that she's gone from a strong 2:1 to a 2:1 / 2:2 border because of the work involved - and I'm concerned that I'd do the same. I was therefore wondering how the relative merits of each were considered by the industry. Any comments either way would be greatly received.

2:1 is more important than being a VP - for sure! But if you think you can pull off both, then go for it. VP does sound impressive. Let me just remind you, if you do get a 2:2, you've got little chance of getting into a graduate scheme at a consultancy. How is Durham as a uni by the way? Best of luck!

2:1 is more important to a consultancy. They do not care about VP really. I mean if someone had a 2:1 from Cambridge and was not VP. Do you think you would be ahead in the running? Wake up and get a life. Go drinking and enjoy being a student.Durham is a good uni so enjoy and get a haircut and a woman too.
