I have an offer from Atos and Detica, but don't know which to go for. I really liked Detica, got a good vibe from the people and the place and think I'd fit in well. Atos was ok and it is of course a name to have on your CV. I was happy starting off in a big firm and down-sizing later, but I don't know if thats the right move any more. Any suggestions? (Atos want me to start in a week!)

Congratulations to you both for securing offers from both Atos and Detica. Having met consultants from each of these firms in recent weeks I can say that they are both looking to recruit & grow aggressively, so there should be good opportunities for you to progress in either firm. The consultants at each also speak highly of the firms - something that&#39;s not always the case at their competitors and so an encouraging sign whichever option you choose.<br><br>Not having worked for either firm it would be wrong for me to advise on which to choose - but I did want to provide the reassurance that both will enhance your marketability and provide you with good career growth potential. My advice in situations like this is always to go with your guy instincts based on how much you liked the individuals you met from each of the firms. After all you are going to spend long hours working away from home on assignments with these people, so the most important thing is that you join a firm where you feel like you fit in and feel like you will make friends and bond with the team.<br><br>Hope that this helps and it&#39;s a nice situation to be in to have offers from both firms, so again well done! Thanks for the reply. I&#39;m getting the same kind of response from everyone I speak to. I seems to just come down to what size of company and culture I&#39;m looking for. As I&#39;m a grad, I&#39;m a bit nervous about turning down one of the &quot;big&quot; firms so I&#39;m still all confused!!

Well done both of you.I&#39;ve worked for Detica (for about 2 years) and now work for Deloitte.I would have to suggest Detica. Atos seems to be becoming more and more an SI and less a consultancy. But then I prefer consultancy to SI work and have moved for Detica into a Strategy group, which would have been hard I think from Atos.The thing to watch with Detica is which BU you get assigned to...

I know several consultants from Atos, and they report that far from turning towards the SI marketplace, the consulting arm is ridiculously busy and growing at a rate of knots. But I agree with the previous posts - go where you feel more comfortable... It&#39;s more important than what looks good on your cv.

So which BU&#39;s do I need to watch out for? I&#39;m still waiting for my contract to arrive from Detica so I don&#39;t know officially where I&#39;ll be working. I&#39;m hoping to get to speak to someone early next week who&#39;s worked there a couple of years and has nothing to gain from me joining (I&#39;m not sure how to take the info I get from people who are basically selling me the company).

Both Atos and Detica are small palyers in the Consulting league. A bit like signing for Fulham or Charlton when ACN, Deloitte and IBM are the Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea of the league.Nothing to get excited about here. Just sign the contract and be done with it. There is no difference between Atos and Detica. Neither will qualify for Europe and neither will win anything significant. Oh and dont forget you will be working with average players and managers (sorry Mr Curbishey).
